Experience

Bec has provided mental health support as a counsellor and psychotherapist for over 15 years and is highly experienced in providing therapeutic support via Telehealth. Life circumstances took Bec on her own trauma healing journey to discovering peace and lasting recovery, and this lived experience fuels her passion for supporting others.

She has helped clients struggling with depression, post-traumatic stress disorder/ complex-post traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder and other anxiety disorders, borderline personality disorder, attachment issues, relationship difficulties, and issues around self-worth, as well as clients needing support to navigate a variety of other life challenges, heart aches and losses.

Bec has worked passionately as a specialist counsellor for survivors of both adulthood and childhood sexual assault, and domestic/family violence, including narcissistic abuse. Other areas of special area of focus for Bec has been working with first responders.

Approach

Bec has a warm, non-judgemental approach, and provides a safe space for talking about any difficult topics. Your needs, goals and readiness will be at the heart of everything you do during your sessions together.

Using a holistic approach, Bec draws from Attachment-Informed EMDR therapy, standard EMDR therapy (advanced EMDRAA accredited training), Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, applied neurobiology, somatic approaches to trauma recovery, and techniques and wisdom of ancient eastern spiritual traditions.  She also uses parts work (Ego State Therapy/inner child work) as a critical adjunct to EMDR therapy for empowering recovery from complex trauma and adverse childhood experiences.

She loves continually learning and upskilling in her drive to offer innovative, creative, evidence-based treatments and therapies to assist in the holistic growth and recovery of each of her clients.
