Experience
Rob is a warm, empathetic and non-judgemental counsellor who has several years experience working across community, forensic and private settings in various roles including NDIS mental health outreach, generalist counselling, therapeutic residential care and family services. With a background in exercise science, Rob has also developed a strong understanding of how physical and mental health are intertwined, and brings a passion for improving peoples mental wellbeing by providing a holistic approach.
Rob provides support for a variety of presenting issues, which include but are not limited to:
- Depression, anxiety, stress management
- Loss and grief
- Relational trauma and single incident trauma
- Family conflict
- Relationship issues (recovery from affairs/infidelity, improving communication/conflict management, improving connection)
- Men’s mental health and fatherhood challenges
- Parenting skills and confidence
- Self-esteem and identity
Approach
Rob uses an integrative counselling approach, whereby interventions are chosen from a variety of modalities to match each person’s specific needs.
Interventions are drawn from modalities including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems, Family Therapy, Couples Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Trauma Focussed Therapy, Psychoeducation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focussed Therapy, and Mindfulness.
