Approach
Georgia is known for her supportive, warm, friendly and down-to-earth approach, helping to put people at ease as they step forward to seek help. Georgia offers an inclusive, non-judgemental counselling space for people to share their story, and explore the issues which may be causing distress and impacting on their quality of life. The pace and frequency of the counselling will be tailored to each individual.
Georgia is trauma informed. This means she will prioritise emotional and physical safety and help to build upon and strengthen a person’s coping mechanisms, in preparation for deeper therapeutic work. Georgia likes to work holistically, ensuring that both the mind and body can be supported together to assist a person’s healing journey and Georgia welcomes collaboration with other professionals where this would be beneficial.
Georgia has undertaken training in a range of different evidence-based and emerging modalities and is able to draw on a range of approaches and techniques in the counselling, in response to the individual needs of each person. Decisions about the interventions and approaches used will be collaborative.
