Approach
Sophie works with her clients in a warm, honest, and collaborative way. She honours the life you have lived so far and works alongside you to help you reach the life that you want. She won’t just sit back and listen, she will actively participate in sessions and invite you to do the same.
Sophie takes a holistic view of the person and considers not just their symptoms, but also their life experiences, their family history, their social and cultural environment, and how their body is responding to all of this. She is interested in supporting you to get to the root cause of things. She invites you to be curious and dig deep in your therapeutic journey.
Sophie’s approach is neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. Sophie loves learning about different therapeutic modalities, and draws from a variety of approaches. She draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems, and the Three Phase Approach to Trauma Therapy.
