Bachelor of Social Work (University of Sydney)

Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (University of Hertfordshire)

Experience:

Holly is a mental health social worker with experience in the community supporting people with homelessness and ongoing mental health issues. More recently, Holly gained a postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and has since worked as a therapist for 3 years. Holly splits her time between this role and working at headspace, and has experience working with both adults and teenagers who want support with depression, PTSD, OCD, social anxiety, generalised anxiety and worry, specific phobias, panic, addiction, body dysmorphia, amongst other things.

Approach:

Holly’s approach is warm, curious, and genuine. She places importance on creating a therapeutic environment where people feel heard and understood to safely explore the difficulties that brought them to therapy, and work towards living a meaningful life. Holly’s work is informed by a trauma-informed and strengths-based lens, and she draws from therapeutic approaches such as CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in order to tailor her approach, based on the individual’s presentation and what they would like to get from therapy. Holly is a lifelong learner and enjoys learning about different therapeutic approaches that she can incorporate into her practice.
