Experience

Lynette Dickinson has over ten years’ experience as a meditation and yoga therapist, working with individuals across the lifespan and within diverse communities. Her background includes supporting people experiencing both physical and mental health crises.

Now a qualified registered Psychologist, Lynette has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings, including classrooms, individual therapy, and small group environments. She is particularly passionate about working across the neurodiversity spectrum, informed by both professional expertise and lived experience.

In addition, she brings considerable personal and professional commitment to supporting individuals living with chronic and acute physical illness and trauma. She provides guidance and support in navigating the uncertainties, emotional challenges, and anxieties associated with significant diagnoses and ongoing health conditions.

Approach

Lynette is dedicated to supporting individuals in finding greater peace and wellbeing in their lives. She aims to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and valued. Central to her work is building a positive and trusting therapeutic alliance.

Her approach is client-centred and collaborative, focusing on helping individuals move toward their personal goals. She brings strong skills in listening, empathy, and compassion, and strives to make each session engaging, creative, and a positive experience that clients can look forward to.

Lynette integrates a range of evidence-based approaches, including mindfulness-based stress reduction, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and relaxation techniques. Through these methods, she supports clients in reducing anxiety and depression while encouraging them to recognise and harness their own strengths in the journey toward wellness.
