5 Easy Steps to Help Calm Your Life

Calm your life and feel happier.
Creating space and taking time out of our busy days can be a challenge. Try these five tips to calm your life and feel happier.

To be calm is a very important thing in life.

It is crucial that we try and look after ourselves, creating space to take time out of our busy days which can sometimes be a challenge. Try some of the below strategies.

1. Learn to say “no” more!

There is nothing wrong with saying no to an invitation. It’s important to spend some quality time alone or with your family, and it’s okay to prioritise yourself over others.

2. Take time out in your week to exercise

Exercise can be a great stress reliever. It can improve your mood and give you an opportunity to release the frustration of the day.

3. Do something small every day for yourself

Try doing something you love like surfing, guitar-playing, gardening, painting, baking, watching trashy TV or journaling.

4. Have technology/phone free time daily

Put your phone, tablet/iPad down for a couple of hours before bed. Or have time in the day where you choose to put your phone away, on public transport, or during dinner. This will allow you to disconnect from external stimulation.

5. Learn what helps you relax and feel calm

Even try a new relaxation strategy like; an audio meditation, guided relaxation, yoga or spending time with your pet.

Try the Smiling mind app on your phone. Or search YouTube for a guided relaxation. Or just cuddle up with your furry friends. Research has shown that spending time with your pets can decrease stress and improve your mood.
