Experience

Sara has worked across private and public health settings to provide counselling and mental health treatment to individuals across the lifespan. They have experience supporting people with depression, anxiety, grief, longstanding personality difficulties, and trauma.

She also has experience working with individuals questioning their gender and sexuality, those managing chronic illness, or adjusting to new medical conditions. Sara is particularly passionate about working with people from the queer community, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, and neurodiverse individuals.

Approach

Sara’s first goal will always be empathy and to connect with clients as a fellow human, and will take the time to get to know you first and understand your life experiences so far. They will then work with you to understand your own hopes for therapy.

Sara is keen to work with you both on distressing symptoms that may be presenting day to day, as well as core issues and past traumas that may be maintaining these difficulties. Sara understands that people do not tend to fit neatly into any category, and thus uses an eclectic approach to treatment.

She primarily draws from therapies including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
